（前略）こうしてはいられないと、終戦の日以来、自忘自失に陥っていた気持ちを取り直して立ち上がった。こんどは再び「天海」の名に戻って、米軍側のすすめに従い外地から引き揚げてくる米軍を慰問すべく、ハワイ七島をめぐりに巡るうち、二年の歳月がまた流れていった。

私は「天海の芸を観ていると心がほぐれてくる」と、いつも感じていたが、それは天海の人柄によるものだと思っていた。しかし、天海が天勝一座にいた頃、天清（島村清三郎）と組んで「滑稽手品種明し」を演じていたことを知ったとき、天海の魅力の原点は、若い頃のコメディーマジックの体験が関係しているのではないかと思うようになった。
このポスターには、そんな気持ちを起こさせるおどけた表情の天海がいる。
